Sterling Silver Chain for Beading and Jewelry Making

Bulk Sterling Silver chain products are sold by the foot (about 30.5 centimeters). Bulk gemstone & sterling silver chain is sold by the inch (about 25 millimeters). Please insert the number of feet or inches desired in the 'Quantity' field. Chain will be sent to you packaged in a neat hank - in a single continuous length. Very long lengths may instead be spooled. If you need a single continuous length longer than 50 feet, you may want contact us for availability.

We do not accept returns of cut products. Please make your selections carefully! If you are not sure of what product you need, order a short piece and test it before ordering a large quantity!

Sterling silver chain is formed from hand wrapped links that have a faceted Black Onyx rondelle in the center of each link. The rondelles are cut and faceted by hand, too, so sizes vary a bit - most are close to 2.5mm in diameter. Each link is about 6 to 7mm long. Sterling silver chain is formed from hand wrapped links that have a small round Turquoise bead in the center of each link. Each bead is about 2.2mm in diameter. Each link is about 6 to 7mm long. We've selected this 2mm Cable Chain with some of the latest design styles in mind! It is a great size for the multi-strand necklaces that incorporate a strand of chain with other strands of pearls, gemstone, faceted glass, and other materials (pearls and beads in the picture are about 4mm). Rolo style chain is especially nice in bracelet and necklace designs due to the large amount of silver used in making the chain. Crimp Ends for Beading Chain SS

Sterling silver crimp ends with a loop - specifically designed to fit the 0.7mm sterling silver beading chain! These are extremely easy to use - just slip the beading chain inside the tube and squeeze the center section of the crimp finding flat. For extra security, you may want to coat the end of the chain with a dab of glue (rated for a metal to metal bond) before crimping. Sold in pairs.

As shown in this example, many types of beads can be used with sterling silver beading chain. Sterling beads as small as 2mm will work, as well as India Glass beads, 6/0 seed beads, most Czech Glass beads and even many Gemstone beads! Beads used should have hole sizes of about 0.75mm and up (to leave a bit of space for the chain to slip through). When crimping the crimp end loops with this chain, use a dab of glue (for extra security) and crimp using the lower crimping position on your crimping pliers (a small needle nosed plier will also work).
