Personally, I think 'Rattail' is a very uncomplimentary name for such a beautiful, smooth, shiny cording product! That is what it is called by the beading industry, however - and we want you to know what you are buying. As shown in the small picture, it is nice for projects such as turning a donut pendant into a simple necklace. Current stock is made from a Rayon and Cotton blend.
When it is cut, it does fray a bit, so most beading books suggest that you dip the cut end in a bit of fabric glue to minimize this. The cord is about 1.5mm thick (some places refer to this size as #1). This product is sold in custom cut continuous pieces, by the yard (sorry - no returns on cut stock!)
