India Glass Mixes - Other Types

In this section you'll find India Glass Mixes of other interesting varieties - examples include foil core and color core (color lined) mixes, basic color mixes, spacer bead mixes, and so on.

If you order these bulk mixes at the 10 package price break, you may get your beads in the large bags that come directly from the overseas vendor. These bags may contain a small amount of broken or otherwise unusable beads (we do not open them). The individual 50 and 100 gram bags are packaged by Beaded Impressions - we make an effort to cull the broken or mis-formed beads, but you still may find an occasional unusable bead in the bags.

Clay Bead Mix

This mix of beads made from clay (kiln fired) is one our most popular styles, when it is available. There are no glass beads in this mix but we've listed it with the India glass mixes because it seems to fit with them. Beads are on the larger side: most of the beads measure from 13mm to 30mm. Holes are fairly large in this mix (often 1mm to 2mm). Packaged 100 grams per bag (approximately 20 - 25 beads - actual number is very dependent on the size of individual beads in the bag).

Silverfoil Mixed Shapes

Availability:

This is a Silver Foilcore Bead Mix. There are many different bead types in this mix: bicolors, silver foil with multicolor cores, and foilcore beads with colored swirls applied to the outside of the bead. Shapes tend to be rounds, ovals and tubes, with an occasional interesting shape (see the twist bead in aqua). Sizes run from about 8-15mm. Available in 50 gram bags (about 45 beads).

Colorlined Matte Swirl Mix

Availability:

Colorlined Matte Swirl mixed beads will add some pizazz to your designs! Beads come lined in the four basic colors shown: red, green, cobalt and aqua. They all have transparent glass over the colored core, a decorative white swirl on the surface and a matte finish. Bead shapes will include rounds, rondelles, teardrops, rectangles, discs and occasional other shapes. Bead sizes range from 8-15mm; Hole sizes for this mix are about 1.6-2mm. The beads are packaged 50 grams per bag (about 40 beads).

Color Core Spiral Mix

Availability:

This is Color Core Spiral. Current stock is mostly rounds that are 11-14mm (very few tubes and barrels at the moment). All have color cores (with lots of colors, including bi-colors) and some have the white spirals of color on the outside. Hole sizes for this mix are about 3-4mm They come 100 grams per bag (70 plus beads).

A Note Regarding Bulk India Glass Mix Beads

India glass often appears 'dusty' - this greyish material is 'kiln release' or 'kiln wash'. It is a material that is used to allow the beads to slip off of the wire that they are formed on in the process of manufacturing. Just rinse your beads in a colander or a piece of cloth to remove the remaining 'dust'.
