Gun Metal Plated Clasps & Findings

All items on this page are all Gun Metal Plated. They are made from base metal covered by a grey to black finish that is usually called Gun Metal in the jewelry business. Items may come from several manufacturers, so finish colors, thicknesses and weights may vary.

If you are looking for beads to coordinate with these findings, remember that hematite beads and hematite finished glass beads have very similar coloring to the gun metal items. Also called "cable guards" or "cable thimbles", this great new finding extends the life of your jewelry by protecting stringing products at the place where they connect to a clasp. The picture shows stranded wire strung through the wire guard, with a crimp in place, as an example. 4.5x3.5mm overall, hole opening accommodates up to .031" (0.8mm) stringing material. Trailer Hitch Clasp, Gunmetal Plated

Very Light Curb Chain, Gunmetal Finish

Very Light Curb Chain with a Gunmetal Finish. Soldered closed links make for a fairly strong chain for the size. Underlying base metal is Brass. 4x5.5mm links formed with 22ga stock. Clam shell Bead Tip has a black colored finish - also called a Gunmetal Plated finish. These bead tips have a "clamshell" style closure to hide knots or crimps. Open hook closes easily to attach to findings such as rings or clasps. These are sometimes also called "callottes" or simply, "knot covers". Gun Metal Plated Cord End Fastener, Closed Loop

Fold over style finding is designed for use with cord materials in the 1mm to 2mm range. End loop is closed. Overall length is 9mm; opening in the fold over slot is about 2.3mm wide and there is a small tooth (very hard to see in the picture) that helps to keep the cord from pulling out. Picture shows finding from both the front & back view and a sample of what Greek leather cord looks like when crimped in the finding (viewed from the back).
