Sterling Silver hanger style bails are formed from a stylish open ring design, keeping the finding light weight and allowing the donut to show through the openings. They are designed for use with components with a large hole, such as many styles of donut beads. Overall size is about 20x6.5mm. Loops at the top of the bail have an opening of about 2.5mm. Measurement within the hanger is about 12mm and maximum thickness is about 5mm.The back of the finding is narrower than the front, but your component must have at least a 6mm hole to allow the bail to fit through. Please note from the two findings at the lower left of the picture that the side of the finding with the oval is narrower than the other side and this is the part of the finding that should go through the hole in your donut. These donut hangers are designed for donuts with a dimension of 12mm or less from the edge of the center hole to the outer edge. Donuts that are thicker than 5mm may fit in the hanger, but the bail may not close enough to allow the loops to line up. Since they are made from Sterling Silver, the bails are fairly soft and can be formed to fit around your pendant to some extent.
While these hanger bails are designed to opened wide enough to slip the donut over the loops, repeated opening and closings or opening the bail past about 45 degrees can cause the material to crack.
