Heishes are tubular shapes with a flat cut edge - each bead is typically cut shorter than the diameter of the tube. Sometimes this shape is also called a "tire" or "wheel". In this case, the outer surface is also faceted, giving ample opportunity for sparkle and blue 'flash'. The Labradorite beads are similarly sized at about 5mm diameter. Handmade in India. Beads are strung on 14.5" strands.

This gemstone is Larvikite (aka Blue Pearl Moonstone). It is often called "Black Labradorite" in the bead business because it 'flashes' within the stone similar to Labradorite. In the case of this stock, most of the flash is silvery in color tone. Larger and smoothly polished oval shaped focal beads have each of the four outer surfaces faceted, forming a diamond shape on each flat side (very hard to see in the picture). A few beads may have slight surface irregularities due to the composition of the gemstone material. Beads are about 30x20mm overall and are drilled on the longest dimension of the bead, as shown by the picture. Hole openings may be enlarged. Sold individually.

Faceted Oval shaped drop beads are cut from nicely colored Labradorite. This group has very nice 'flash' in both blue and golden tones (better than the picture can show). The beads are all hand cut and faceted - with fairly good faceting on the front of the bead and slightly less accurately faceting on the back of the bead. Holes may not be level across the top of the drops, so please account for this in your design. Sizing in this group is very uniform so all are being sold in the same size category. Each bead will be approximately 8-9mm tall and 6-7mm wide. Sold individually.

Nicely formed and drilled Labradorite round beads have a moderate level of blue "flash", base color is a light and uniform grey. We got a great deal on this stock - so don't be afraid of the below market price! Beads range in size from 2.7mm to 3.3mm, but are uniform on an individual strand. Full-round, smooth teardrop shapes are made from Labradorite and are drilled across the top (or sometime, the middle). Lots of beads on a 14 inch strand, due to the direction that the beads are drilled. This group of beads has nice color and a good level of blue "flash". Drops are about 5-10mm long x 2.5-5mm wide at base of teardrop. Sold on 14" strands.

Handmade smooth oval beads are formed from good color labradorite with a great level of blue & yellow "flash". Beads are better made than we usually see: relatively uniform in shape, size and drilling. Beads can range from 6-9mm long (most tend to be about 8mm) and are 5-6mm wide. Strands are about 14 to 14.5 inches in length.

Coin shaped beads are cut from nice quality Labradorite with well defined blue "flash". Notice from the picture that most beads are well formed but you will occasionally see a bead that is broken at the hole (upper left of picture) or drilled off-center. Coins are flat on each side and are fairly small at 4mm to 5mm in diameter. They come on 14" strands.

We were lucky to find such nice large Labradorite beads. The blue 'flash' is good to excellent in these oval beads - and some even flash purple, turquoise or yellow in some lighting conditions. Due to the very large size, some beads will have 'lines' within the gemstone material where the crystal formation is not continuous (shown in picture). Each bead measures about 16x12mm. Drilled on the long dimension of the bead, faceted on both sides of the bead. Sold individually.

Remaining stock has been discounted for condition. One or more of the following may occur: lines within gemstone where crystal formation changes, inclusions, no flash or flash can only be viewed from an odd angle. Original price was $2.65.
