These are the semi-precious Chinese Turquoise smooth and carved beads we currently have in stock.

Turquoise is a somewhat soft gemstone occurring in various shades of blue and green, often with matrix interspersed (tones of black, brown and white). Our pictures show only a fraction of the possible color tones that can be encountered. Chinese Turquoise obviously comes from deposits in China - so the color can differ from deposits found elsewhere (i.e. deposits in the United States). The stone will also vary in color and consistency between different mines in the same region. Turquoise can be adversely affected by heat (about 480 degrees F), detergents, oils, etc.

Availability:
Tumbled smooth teardrop shapes retain the organic look of natural turquoise. Even though the surfaces are fairly smooth and polished to a high gloss, the mixture of brown matrix and the occasion small pocket or indentation each pendant retains it's individual nature. Teardrops have been sorted into five size categories - pick one or more sizes to suit your project. Note that size ranges overlap a bit to account for the combination of height and width.

These oval-shaped barrels have great turquoise color tones with just a bit of matrix. Note from the picture that some strands are more blue tone and others are more blue-green. If you have a preference, please let us know in the "Comments" section when you checkout. The beads are 6-6.5mm long and 4-4.5mm wide - all are cut very uniformly and have a glossy surface finish. Also note from the picture that a few of the longer beads have a ridge near the end, due to the way the beads are manufactured. Strung on 16 inch strands.

Nicely made Chinese Turquoise Rondelles have bright blue color and a good 'interest level' from the matrix. Matrix colors include both black and brown tones. The beads are uniform in diameter (ranging 4.3 to 4.5mm) and have a very glossy surface finish. Note from the picture that some beads are thinner than others, but thickness and diameter will be very uniform on each individual strand.
