This stone is also known as Spectrolite. It is predominantly a grey translucent color and is
common to see with fractures and occasional shades of light brown or yellowish color. It's unique feature is it's flash of blue (and sometimes yellow) with movement. We occasionally also list Larvikite items here, as people search for it under the bead industry name of "Black Labradorite".
You see excellent 'flash' in this batch of Labradorite Faceted Teardrop beads. In addition to the common blue tones, you'll see golden, silvery & even some peachy colored action.
Our latest batch of Labradorite Faceted rondelles have a medium Blue/Grey base color with very nice blue 'flash'. The beads are hand cut, but sizing, faceting and shapes are nicer than you usually see.
We were lucky to find such nice large Labradorite beads. The 'flash' colors are nice in this batch - in addition to the traditional blue color beads may flash purple, turquoise or yellow in some lighting conditions.
This gemstone is Larvikite (aka Blue Pearl Moonstone). It is often called 'Black Labradorite' in the bead business because it 'flashes' within the stone similar to Labradorite.
This batch of Labradorite drops lots of elongated shapes, some slightly asymmetrical shapes and some are oddly drilled. The 'flash' is better than the picture shows.
Labradorite is very hard to find in larger rounded shapes! We are labeling these 'off rounds' because some beads will be slightly off-round, have small flat spots or are drilled slightly off center. A few beads may also be broken, as you can see in the picture.
