Availability:

Our Amazonite is the pastel blue-green variety - sometimes referred to as "Chinese Amazonite". It is translucent to opaque - and the color varies as shown in the picture. Aventurine is actually a greenish quartz that often contains tiny flakes of mica which give this stone it's depth and occasionally, a somewhat metallic appearance. This gemstone can vary in color from very pale, translucent green to dark and almost opaque. Our round beads tend to take the middle road: medium green and partially opaque.

Azurite and Malachite are gemstones that are found in association with copper ores. While these two stones can be found together in nature - there is not enough raw material to satisfy demand. The material for these beads comes from reassembled stone, keeping the price more reasonable. The beads are well made and very glossy.

Availability:

Carnelian is a bright red-orange to a deep, brown-orange chalcedony. Small beads will appear to be more translucent; large beads will appear more opaque. Our round beads tend to be in the middle color tones: medium orange-brown.

This is a soft gemstone that is found in the same areas that Turquoise is (in association with copper ore veins). There is not enough raw material to satisfy demand, however, so natural Chrysocolla is expensive - and is often soft and crumbly. The material for these beads comes from reassembled stone, keeping the price more reasonable. The beads are well made, glossy and more stable than the natural stone.

Availability:

Our round Fluorite tends to be shades of purple, pale green, and almost clear. Fluorite can also be found in a range of other colors - mostly yellow and gold tones. This is a very soft stone and is prone to scratching and fracturing. We think our round beads are of good quality - but some shipments may be lighter in color than any of us would like. Current stock has more purple than usual, so we have updated the picture. Smaller beads will be most affected.

Much nicer Garnet than we usually see, especially in this size range! Good clarity, better shaped and drilled than usual although you may see a occasional small flat spot. Actual size is about 6.2mm diameter, strung on 15.5" strands, sold by the strand.

Availability:

Similar to Goldstone, these beads are not made from a 'stone', but are tiny copper flakes in colored glass. They are not terribly 'blue' either - this product tends to be so dark blue that it sometimes looks black.
