Here are the Specialty and Color Mix Freshwater Pearls currently in stock. These are the pearls stocked on abeadstore.com previously.
We have limited amounts of each of these and the styles and colors change frequently to reflect seasonal preferences and availability.
Many of the pearls are only available once from our importers, so stock up if you think you will be using a particular style in several designs.
Nugget pearls that remind me of a walk on a pebbly bead - the pebbles shiny in such lovely subtle shades. This is a nugget pearl mix of both shades and sizes.
Rich and well coordinated color tones make up this Holiday Enchantment color mix of Rice shaped pearls. You'll find multiple shades of green and gold in this mix, spiced up with some burgandy red and other colors.
You'll find pale peridot, white, light peacock and a couple different shades of gold and burgandy red on each strand. Most pearls are rather smooth, but you'll find occasional slight banding on some pearls.
It is the vivid blue ones that really jump out! Smaller potato pearls are very good quality: very good luster, smooth surfaces, very rounded shapes and very uniform in size.
Smaller potato pearls in a rainbow mix of pastels with white and a few darker shades for contrast. Most of the pearls have smooth surfaces, but a few will have light banding. Good luster and fairly rounded shapes.

Petite potato pearls have striking deep Blue coloration. Luster tends to be very good, but you may find a few pearls on your strand that you may want to cull for uncharateristic dullness.
These Biwa style pearls were selected for their short length and shape and then were top-drilled to mimic much more expensive keishi pearls. Excellent luster and opalescent highlights complete the look.
These Gold Stick Pearls have great color and have opalescence in the pink and yellow tones. 16-30mm long (most tend to be in the middle of that range), 5.5-8mm wide.
These Stick Pearls are drilled on the long dimension of the pearl. Have very good luster and great opalescent highlights.

How Many Pearls on a Strand?
The number of pearls in a strand is based on the type of pearl and the size. If you need an approximate number for your project, tables are posted at the bottom of each page in this category by the "style" of pearl (for example, go to Coin in the left nav for the size table for Coin Pearls).
Pearl buying tips:
Freshwater pearls are temporarily strung and sold by the strand. Strands are usually 15.5-16" long (40 cm).
Pearls are a natural product and some styles and colors will be available only in limited amounts. Though we try to buy pearls that can be re-stocked,
some styles may not be available again. So, we suggest you purchase all the strands that you need for a particular project at the same time.
Our pearls are priced based on their overall quality. Higher priced pearls will be more consistent in color and shape and have better luster. Small pearls also will be higher in price (more labor to prepare the strands) as will very large pearls (more rare and they take longer to culture).
The freshwater pearls we sell at abeadstore.com and PearlBeadSale.com are all cultured pearls; for more information about the pearl culturing process please see the All About Pearls page on our wholesale website PearlBeadSale.com.
