Freshwater Potato Pearl Beads

Freshwater Potato Pearl Beads are shaped like a potato. They are more uniform in shape than Nugget Pearls. Most are drilled on the short dimension, but we also offer them drilled on the long dimension. Sizes are provided as a range unless the strand is very uniform.

Gold Potato Pearl Beads - 7.5mm

Availability:

Medium gold potato pearls have highlights of rose. Shapes are very uniformly rounded. A few pearls may be slightly oblong or have very slight banding or an occasional dimple. Overall, though, this is a very good quality batch of pearls with very good luster. Sizes run close to 7.5mm on the un-drilled dimension and are about 7-7.5mm on the drilled direction. These potato pearls have a soft gold color accented with rose and pale green colored highlights. The potato shapes are rounded and it is common to see light banding around the center of the pearls. Large Dark Gold Potato Pearl

These larger potato pearls are a deep gold and rather metallic color. The highlights include bronze tones and rose to lilac hues. Another nice feature of these strands is that care was taken to match the pearls very closely in size and shape on each individual strand, as you can see in the picture. A very few individual pearls will have a small dimple or a slight surface mark as shown. Pearls are 8 to 9mm on the undrilled dimension and 7.5-8mm on the drilled width.

Lovely Champagne gold potato pearls are very nice quality with shapes that are almost round. The pearls also have excellent luster as you can see from the picture. It is possible that you might see a pearl with a tiny flat spot or dye mark, but almost all pearls are smooth and uniformly colored. Pearl buying tips:

Freshwater pearls are temporarily strung and sold by the strand. Strands are usually 15.5-16" long (40 cm).

Pearls are a natural product and some styles and colors will be available only in limited amounts. Though we try to buy pearls that can be re-stocked, some styles may not be available again. So, we suggest you purchase all the strands that you need for a particular project at the same time.

Our pearls are priced based on their overall quality. Higher priced pearls will be more consistent in color and shape and have better luster. Small pearls also will be higher in price (more labor to prepare the strands) as will very large pearls (more rare and they take longer to culture).
