These fancy beads are hand-made in either Turkey or India. They are made with Solid Copper bodies - and are hollow to keep the weight reasonable. All have Sterling Silver and Solid Copper used on the surface for decoration.

The Turkish made beads are extremely uniform and well made, consequently you'll find that they tend to be higher priced than a similarly sized bead from India. Occasionally, we also have sterling silver beads with copper as the surface decoration.

The beads made in India are also well made, but are not quite as perfectly uniform. You may find small spots where the silver solder that is used to attach the silver decoration to the piece will flow over the copper part of the bead. Occasionally, we also get India beads with a silver base and solid copper as the surface decoration.
