Gemstone Smooth Beads - Heishe
This page contains semi-precious Gemstone Heishe beads. A heishe is similar to a saucer or rondelle bead, but the edges of the bead will not be as rounded or tapered. Heishe beads look more like a 'slice' of gemstone. The dimension given for each strand will be the diameter of the beads.

Unless otherwise noted, a 'full strand' is 15-16" in length.

New Stock These beads are not faceted, but you hardly miss it as the color is a rather transparent and sparkling white with nice blue 'flash'. Heishe beads are tubular shapes with a flat cut edge - each bead is typically cut shorter than the diameter of the tube. Bead sizes range 4mm to 5.2mm diameter, but each individual strand has very uniform sizing. Strung on 14 to 14.5 inch strands.

new product Lapis Lazuli Heishi beads are nicely made & polished. Color tone varies from darker blues to lighter blues, but tends to be similar in color on individual strands. All beads have some white to tans inclusions as shown. Beads are uniformly sized at about 4.3 to 4.5mm diameter. Sold on 15.5 to 16 inch strands.

These beads have that well mixed blue to grey color tone that Iolite is famous for. In fact, the color is dark enough that I suspect that these beads have been over-dyed to enhance the blue color. Beads are cut in a smooth heishe shape - some people call this a disc bead. Beads vary in size from 5mm to 6.5mm - but individual strands will be fairly uniform in size across the entire strand. Sold on 14 to 14.5 inch strands.
