Kumihimo is a type of Japanese Braid-weaving that is formed from interlacing strands of cord, ribbon, and thread. This Round Mini Disk is used for making a rounded (cylindrical) braid, and is small for ttravel, portability or for people with smaller hands that feel the regular sized disk is too large for them. The end result of Kumihimo is a colorful and fun braided strand that can be used on it own or with other jewelry component to make a beautiful design. Depending on the number of cords used, the final braid can range in size to fit your design. Beads can also be incorporated within the braid. Rattail Satin Cord is great to use as a base for the braid; then thread, ribbon, or other cord can be used to add color and texture. The disk is 4.25" in diameter and is made of 3/8" dense foam - NOTE: although the disk is smaller, the braid size won't be different from the ones made form the larger disk. The disk comes with a set of English language instructions. Sold individually.
