Kumihimo is a type of Japanese Braid-weaving that is formed from interlacing strands of cord, ribbon, and thread. This Square Plate is used for making a thick, flat braid. The end result of Kumihimo is a colorful and fun braided strand that can be used on it own or with other jewelry component to make a beautiful design. Depending on the number of cords used, the final braid can range in size to fit your design. Beads can also be incorporated within the braid. Rattail Satin Cord is great to use as a base for the braid, then thread, ribbon, or other cord can be used to add color and texture. The disk is 6x6" in diameter and is made of 3/8" dense foam.
