Silk thread can be found in sizes from #0 (very fine - about .30 mm) to #16 (very thick - about 1.05 mm). We sell the most commonly used sizes of silk thread on cards with a needle pre-attached: #2, #4 and #6.

We recommend using #2 for very small pearls, and either #4 (.60 mm) or #6 (.70 mm) for average or larger pearls. Silk thread can also be purchased on spools (supply your own needle) sized from 00 (extremely fine - about .0127 mm) to FFF (.419 mm). You should use the largest size thread that you can comfortably get through the pearls in order to maximize the strength and stability of the jewelry.
