What does "gold filled" mean - will the gold wear off my beads? |

Gold filled beads have a 10 karat or better layer of gold mechanically bonded to a metal.
The bonding is done under heat and pressure. It is then rolled out to a given thickness, thus creating the gold filled bead. The process used in making gold filled beads makes it highly unlikely that the gold will rub off your beads.
