Seed Bead Pattern Bracelet

Similar to the little beaded animals that kids make a camp, this bracelet is designed with seed beads in fun colors and patterns.

Seed Bead Pattern Bracelet
by Kyra Traxler

Materials:
  • About 8 Feet Soft Stringing Material. This should be tough, not just sewing thread. It also needs to be able to easily fit two times through a 6/0 seed bead. This design uses Wildfire Black Thread. Another good possibility is PowerPro Thread.
  • 2 strands of 6/0 seed beads. This design uses Amethyst Silver Lined and Iris Finish Crystal ones.
  • 2 SS Wire Guards.
  • 2 2x2mm SS Crimps.
  • 2 3mm SS Crimp Covers.
  • 1 22ga, 4mm SS Open Jump Ring.
  • 1 Clasp or Toggle of your choice. This design uses a SS 10mm Lobster Claw.

  • Tools:
    • Ergonomic Plier Set.
    • Twisted Needle may be desired for looping the thread back through the seed beads after crimping.
    • Scissors may be needed to cut the Thread.

    Instructions:
    1. Cut about 8ft of desired thread material.
    2. String on one wire guard so that it is half way between each end.
    3. String both ends through a crimp. Pull the crimp down to the wire guard and crimp it.
    4. String one crystal and two amethyst beads on each side of thread.
    5. On one side - I always did it on the left side - string on one crystal and five amethyst beads (this will be Row 1).
    6. With the string on the opposite side, bring it trough the six beads just added to the other; you must first go through the final bead that was strung on the other thread (so the purple side NOT the crystal side). Only sting back through the six beads put on in the previous step.
    7. Pull the thread tight. One this thread, string on one amethyst, one crystal, then four amethyst beads (this will be Row 2).
    8. Follow the same process as step six.
    9. Continue following the steps following this pattern... Row 3: Two amethyst, one crystal, three amethyst. Row 4: Three amethyst, one crystal, two amethyst. Row 5: Four amethyst, one crystal, one amethyst. Row 6: Five amethyst, and one crystal. Row 7: Two amethyst, two crystal, two amethyst.
    10. Continue following the pattern from Row 1 - Row 7. Do this until the bracelet is the desired length - remember that the clasp and findings will add some length to the design. When I did this the bracelet was the right length at the end of a Row 6.
    11. When the design is the right length, put three beads on each side of the thread - continuing the pattern - and then string each thread through a crimp.
    12. Once through the crimp, take both ends through the wire guard and back through the crimp.
    13. Crimp the crimp. Thread the loose ends back through a few of the seed beads and trim the ends. This is the point were a threading needle may be helpful to bring the thread ends back through the seed beads.
    14. Put a crimp cover over each crimp.
    15. Put a jump ring on one end - attach it directly to the wire guard.
    16. On the opposite side attach the clasp that you desire and you're DONE!
